Context & challenge
Useful document generation involves more than writing fluent text. The workflow also needs to extract relevant information, produce an editable structure, and make review practical.
Generated content is a starting point for human review. It should not be treated as a verified final document simply because the text reads well.
Approach & scope
The documented prototype processes source material, assembles context for generation, and creates a structured draft for editing. Further work focuses on processing, retrieval, and reliability.
- File processing
- File extraction and OCR explored in the prototype.
- Generation
- Structured AI-generated drafts for editing.
- Editing
- Rich-text document editing and stored document versions.
- Export
- PDF export work is part of the project; current end-to-end availability needs verification.

The complete example
Sources: a fictional bakery records dispatches on paper. Draft: organize the context, challenge, and a proposed digital record. Review: check every statement against the source, flag unsupported details, and edit before sharing. All panels are prewritten; no AI request is made.
Evidence & limitations
A prototype and an engineering improvement plan are documented in a 2 October 2026 audit. Production readiness, accuracy improvements, and processing-time gains have not been established by measured results.
This is collaborative academic work, not a commercially available product. The dated audit is not a fresh inspection of current behavior. Outputs require review and results have not been benchmarked.
What comes next
Improve the processing pipeline and evidence handling, evaluate retrieval with representative files, and validate the editing and export experience.
